I fell in love with the amazing resiliency of the human body during an anatomy and physiology course in High School. I later went on to college at the University of Anchorage Alaska and Oregon State University for undergraduate studies that were leading to a degree as a physical therapist. When life gifted me with some curve balls I found myself landing back home in Alaska, still wanting to pursue a career working with the human body. So I applied for and I graduated from UAA's massage therapy program in 2000 and went on to work in chiropractors and doctor's offices as well as high-end luxury resort spas, retreat centers, festivals and sporting events.
I taught massage for almost 10 years at HACC (Harrisburg Area Community College) including running the student's hands-on studio, teaching 'the ethics of touch', 'spa & aromatherapy', 'hot stone', 'business', 'chair massage', 'pharmacology for massage', 'special populations: pregnancy, obesity, geriatric and people with disabilities' as well as teaching CEU's for current LMT's in ethics.
Some of the many different courses I have taken as continuing education over my several decades as an LMT include: 'intro to lymphodema massage', 'oncology', 'cupping', 'hot stone', 'aromatherapy certification for massage therapists', 'pregnancy and infant massage', 'working with clients with disabilities', 'working with trauma survivors', 'Ayurvedic massage techniques', 'myofascial/ connective tissue release'... the list goes on.
I am a licensed massage therapist and have been practicing since graduating from the Academy of Massage & Bodyworks in Pottstown, PA in 2022. My work experience includes providing therapeutic massages at Kaynan Therapies, LLC in Halifax, PA and Heathers Haven Salon & Spa in Millersburg, PA.
As a massage therapist, I have always been interested in how the body works and traditional healing practices. In 2020, I completed not only my 200-hour Yoga certification but also 3 additional Yoga certifications and my first two Reiki attunements. This ignited my passion to help others and in 2021, I completed my 300-hour Yoga certification and my Reiki mastership. When I finalized my massage training and became licensed, I knew that I had completed a full circle of ways to help as many people as I possibly could.
I specialized in therapeutic massages; however, I do practice other modalities including Swedish, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, and Sports Massages. Currently, I am enjoying the ability to work with a variety of clientele. I love being able to help my clients feel better whether it’s relaxing and recharging themselves or addressing a special issue that helps bring some relief to their bodies.
In addition to practicing massage therapy, I enjoy reading on my front porch swing, spending time with my cats, cooking all kinds of different foods with my teenage son and watching Premier League Soccer games on the weekend – Go Chelsea.
YOU!
Although we have worked in chiropractor's and doctor's offices as well as high-end luxury resort spas, retreat centers, festivals and sporting events and for almost 10 years Tracy taught massage at HACC, that doesn't really tell you exactly who we work with....
We have worked with teenagers struggling to manage their bipolar disorder.
We have worked with athletes training and recovering from competitions and injuries.
We have worked with clients with severe cognitive and physical disabilities who are often non-verbal and come to their appointments with a caregiver from their group home.
We have worked with survivors of abuse, trauma and addiction.
We have worked with overstressed parents, corporate leaders, business owners, factory workers, laborers, men, women, children, infants and the elderly just to name a few.
We have worked on the healthcare teams of those going through cancer treatments and recovery.
We have worked with so many clients from so many different populations that we feel confident we can work with you too. And if what you need is outside of our scope of practice, we will work to refer you to or help you locate the right professional for your needs.
Massage is healing. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage are life changing. I am honored to take this journey with you to RESTORE balance to affected areas of your mind, body and spirit.
Communication is key. I need to know what you're experiencing and what you're looking to gain. In turn, I explain treatments and what you can gain from it. I will ILLUMINATE where I see obstacles that you can overcome on your own with lifestyle changes or with my help through massage therapy treatments.
Making massage a regular part of your self-care will change your relationship with your body. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term, so you can THRIVE.
